Lions Show & Shine/Car Boot Swap Meet

The Lions Gumeracha Show & Shine incorporates the Shannon's Memorial Cruise which

recognises our fallen from the defence force and those that have passed away from the

motoring clubs in South Australia. This year’s event falls on Armistice (Remembrance) Day,

Sunday the 11th of November 2018 at the Gumeracha Sporting grounds.

This year’s show will see the introduction of a Car Boot Swap Meet. This will give sellers an

opportunity to set up an area the width of their car by 3 metres out, to display Automotive

parts for sale. All Show and Shine entrants and Boot Swap Meet sellers will be charged an

entry fee of $15 per vehicle.

The money raised on the day will be donated to “Camp Quality” and all gifts will be collected

by the View Club who in turn will dispense it at Christmas to underprivileged children.

The Lions club members of Golden Grove and Torrens Valley are proud to offer the motoring

enthusiasts a platform to showcase their pride and joy and at the same time raise money for

Camp Quality. Apart from presenting trophies to the different classes of vehicles on the day,

there will be a retro fashion parade and good old fashioned family fun events such as the Sack

race, Egg & Spoon race, 3 Legged race and so on. Our Lions Mobile Skin Cancer Screening

vehicle will be in attendance for free screenings all day.

Entertainment on the day will be provided by one of Australia’s favourite Rockabilly bands,

“The Lincolns” supported by DJ Peter Panagaris. Food & Drink stalls along with Coffee and

Ice Cream vendors compliment the many trade stalls showcasing their products which are on

display and for sale.

Entry fee for competitors is $15 plus an optional small wrapped Christmas gift for children.

The public may enter with a gold coin donation of their choosing.

Our silent auction will be one to bid on, as we have a range of expensive items on offer to the

highest bidder, with no reserve. In all, a great South Australian project with something of

interest for the whole family.

Yours sincerely,
